Job Opportunity: Natural Resource Specialist, ODFW, Heppner, OR

Are you a strategic thinker? Can you create and build consensus with diverse groups of stakeholders? Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is hiring a Natural Resource Specialist 2 (Natural Resource Conservation Liaison) in Heppner, OR.

Responsibilities: You will provide biological/wildlife technical assistance for Farm Bill conservation
programs to agriculture/forest producers and landowners.  You will receive daily instruction and
leadership provided by a Natural Resource Conservation Service Designated Conservationist.
Qualifications: Two years’ biological/ecological/hydrological experience that included at least one year
of experience at a technical/professional level; AND a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science,
or a closely-related Bachelor’s degree or three additional years of biological/ecological/hydrological
experience. A Master’s/Doctorate degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science, or closely-related degree may
substitute for some experience.

The goal of this recruitment is to fill the position at the Natural Resource Specialist 2 (NRS2) level.
However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the Natural Resource
Specialist 1 (NRS1) ($3,187-$4,629/mo.) to apply, as the department may consider underfilling the

Salary: $3,664 – $5,339 monthly depending upon qualifications.
