Join ORTWS for the next in our Legislative Outreach series. We are hosting a Meet and Greet with State Representative Dan Rayfield on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 10:15 – 11:15 AM at Natural Grocers in Corvallis.
Dan is the representative for House District 16, covering Corvallis. To see a map of his district, click here. To find out more about Rep. Rayfield, visit his website here!
WHEN: Saturday February 21 10:15 – 11:15 AM
WHERE: 1235 NW 10th Street Corvallis, OR 97330
Why is this important? Rep Rayfield is the House co-chair of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Natural Resources. He and the Senate co-chair head up the committee that makes most of the budget decisions on natural resources issues, including wildlife management. The co-chairs of the full Ways and Means Committee make major decisions, such as how much money will go to natural resources budgets, and the subcommittee will then decide how that money is divided up.
So, letting Rep. Rayfield know that ORTWS is here to provide sound scientific information to help him with those decisions is a pretty big deal!
Meeting Agenda: Introductions around, Rep Rayfield will speak a bit, and ORTWS will inform Rep Rayfield about us and our membership, the Oregon Conservation Strategy, and our interests. Then we will have Q and A from the membership!
Please RSVP to Vee Blackstone at ortws.treasurer@gmail.com so that we can ensure a good, supportive turn out. Our goal is to have at least 20 members there, and students are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Can’t make it but have a question? Sent it to Vee Blackstone and she will ask it for you!
