Wildlife Habitat Technician

Play a part in implementing activities to fulfill the wildlife habitat program goals and objectives of the John Day Watershed! Construct and maintain program facilities; implement habitat restoration and improvement projects such as wetland management, big game winter range, planting wildlife food and cover crops, noxious weed control, planting trees and shrubs; as well as participate in the observation and recording of conditions that influence wildlife and their numbers. Operate, maintain and repair a variety of farm equipment with implements and heavy construction equipment.

Qualifications: Requires an Associate’s degree in Wildlife Technology or Agriculture; or eighteen months’ experience in the care of livestock, agricultural research/experimentation, monitoring game or wildlife, or farming; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries/Wildlife Science, Agriculture or closely-related Bachelor’s degree and one year of wildlife experience.
Salary: $2,647-$3,761/mo. Generous benefits package.
