The Oregon Chapter of the Wildlife Society is currently soliciting grant proposals for our 2020 round of grant funding.  ORTWS awards small grants in support of wildlife outreach and education in the Pacific Northwest, consistent with our mission and goals. The mission of ORTWS is to serve and represent wildlife professionals in all areas of wildlife conservation and resource management. The Chapter fulfills its mission through:

  1. Developing and maintaining a program that facilitates professional development of natural resources professionals,
  2. Promoting stewardship of wildlife and their habitats through the use of sound ecological information,
  3. Increasing awareness and appreciation of wildlife, and
  4. Developing an active and diverse membership and maintain an organization that provides excellence in member services.

Through the grant program, ORTWS has provided funding for a variety of projects including workshops, birding festivals and other educational events, publication of symposia proceedings, media production for educational purposes, professional development opportunities, and more. Grant funds typically range from $200-$1,000 and are not intended to support field research.
