2022 Winter Wildlife Field Days Grant Report

Winter Wildlife Field Days is a family-friendly event that invites the public to get involved with nature. This year, starting from March 1-31, all 21 community members created dozens of things for participants to explore the beauty of nature, including crafts (e.g., building bird feeders, strawberry DNA extraction), owl hikes and pellet dissection, outdoor reading, and pop-up activity stations.

The Garcia Lab (associated with Fisheries Wildlife Graduate Association, Oregon State University) guided the public to explore the world of amphibian species, as well as introduced tips to identify wildlife and conserve them. In addition, we established brand new social media pages to engage more public to join the event. In summary, we posted over 48 posts, and the Facebook fan page has engaged over 4816 folks, 109 followers, and 100 likes.
