Galen G. Schuler

Galen is Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Affairs for Green Diamond Resource Company, which owns and manages over 1.6 million acres of working forest lands in California, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Green Diamond is a part of a privately held, family-owned company established in 1890. Galen also serves as General Counsel for Green Diamond Management Company, which provides timberland management services for other timberland investors. Green Diamond Management Company is responsible for operations on over 600,000 acres of timberlands in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Oregon and Washington. Galen is grateful for over 20 years of service at Green Diamond and looking forward to retirement in April of 2025.

Before he joined Green Diamond in 2004, Mr. Schuler was a partner in the Environment and Natural Resources Practice Group of Perkins Coie LLP, where he provided legal advice and litigation services to a variety of clients including forest products companies, agricultural interests, the building industry, and public works agencies.

Galen enjoys riding motorcycles, caring for four little Boston Terriers, long walks, Indian law, policy and law for conservation of threatened and endangered species, and Pacific Northwest geography and history.

Galen holds a B.A. from Boise State University and an M.P.A. from the University of Minnesota. He earned his J.D. at the University of Washington.
