Member Spotlight: Tracy Scruggs

Tracy Scruggs
ORTWS Board Member (2026 – 2028)

Current Position: Wildlife Biologist

Biographical Sketch: I just recently started my new role in the Heppner District office. Before this, I worked as a Biologist Intern with Wyoming Game and Fish. The past couple summers I’ve also had positions with ODFW as a Wolf Bio Intern and a Fisheries Technician. I earned my B.S in Natural Resource Management from Oregon State University-Cascades in Bend, Oregon. In my free time, I’m an avid fly fisherman, hiker and backpacker. In the fall, I’m spending most of my free time hunting. In the event that there are no outdoor activities going on you can find me playing basketball at the gym or watching the Blazers if they are playing.

I look forward to serving on the ORTWS board, and I’m excited about helping students learn field skills and the ins and outs of what working in wildlife management is like.
