Turnstone Environmental Seeking a Biologist for Snail/Slug Surveys

Turnstone Environmental Consultants is a small, locally owned environmental consulting firm that helps our clients protect and manage shared natural resources with solutions that are practical, forward thinking, and built on a foundation of good science. Turnstone is currently hiring 1-2 field biologists for avian and terrestrial mollusk (snail/slug) surveys on Mt. Hood and near Willamina, OR from May 4-July 18, with the possibility of extension. These are full-time, temporary-seasonal positions, which do not include housing and will require regular dispersed camping. Surveys require working long and irregular hours, off-trail hiking in arduous terrain (often in adverse weather and/or in the dark), and regular travel on forested roads. Applicants with a completed B.S. degree in wildlife biology or a closely-related field and at least 1-2 field seasons of experience are strongly preferred. Species-specific experience is highly desired but is not required as long as the applicant has solid field skills, basic bird identification skills, and an interest in avian and terrestrial mollusk biology. For more information and application instructions, go to https://www.turnstoneenvironmental.com/index.php?id=employment. Turnstone is committed to building a diverse team where differences are valued and respected. Women, minorities, and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. The application period will remain open until all positions are filled, but hiring is currently underway!
