Current Position: Administrative Consultant (2022 – Present)
Biographical Sketch: I am a Warner Pacific University graduate, majoring in international business and environmental science, with a minor in law. I worked for 17 years in environmental resources as a Senior Project Coordinator at PacifiCorp in Portland, Oregon. During my career with PacifiCorp I was responsible for habitat enhancement contracts, communication and coordination with hydro licensing fish and wildlife biologists and fish passage engineers with all activities relating to environmental enhancement measures for hydroelectric projects in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. In addition, since 2006 I was proud to be the project lead for a large aquatic fund that awarded funds for projects that enhance and improve wetlands, riparian, and riverine habitats and projects that increase the probability for a successful anadromous fish reintroduction program.
I decided to retire from PacifiCorp in late 2021 and shortly thereafter accepted a part-time position with the Oregon Chapter of the Wildlife Society (ORTWS). I have worked professionally with many wildlife professionals while at PacifiCorp and it’s great to be working with many of them again through ORTWS. Of late, I’m spending more time enjoying world travel and pursuing my passion for wildlife photography and scuba diving. My volunteer time includes using my skills as a Master Diver for the Oregon Zoo. I work closely with animal keepers in the care of habitats for polar bears, harbor seals, sea otters, penguins, and a variety of Northwest fish and invertebrates, providing up-close animal observations, target feeding of certain fish and data collection for Oregon Zoo veterinarian’s. I’ve also been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to complete maritime archeology training in Costa Rica.
As the Administrative Consultant for ORTWS it’s wonderful to be a part of a program that’s doing great things for wildlife.
