Biographical Sketch: I’ve been lucky enough to have a really varied career and one that has given me incredible opportunities.  I have a Bachelor of Science in wildlife and wetlands biology and I’ve been working in the natural resources field for my entire career.  I started my career as a seasonal with the U.S. Forest Service, working on the Idaho Panhandle National Forest. This is where I fell in love with the mountain west. My work included everything from stream surveys, to stand exams, to firefighting.  I then moved to Maryland and worked my way up through the ranks from technician with the Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources to statewide program manager, heading up the information and education department.  After thirteen years in Maryland, I decided it was time to head west again so I secured a position with OR Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) working as an outdoor skills educator (primarily women’s programs) and then working as a fisheries and hydropower biologist on the upper Deschutes River.  After seventeen years with ODFW, I moved back to Maryland for a brief stint and am now back in Oregon working as a fish and wildlife biologist for Portland General Electric on the Pelton Round Butte Hydropower Project on the Deschutes River.  I feel very fortunate to be back in Oregon, working with a great group of very talented biologists and I’m eager to get involved with the Oregon Chapter of the Wildlife Society, to share what I’ve learned along the way and learn some new things in the process.

As Hunter S. Thompson would say, “It’s been one hell of a ride,” but I know it’s not over yet.
