Mikal Cline
ORTWS President (2024-2025)

Current position: ODFW Upland Game Bird Coordinator

Biographical Sketch: Greetings ORTWS!  I have been a professional game bird biologist for about 22 years, including 6 years with WDFW as a waterfowl specialist, 6 years with the National Wild Turkey Federation, and 3 years and counting with ODFW as the Upland Game Bird Coordinator.  In this role, I get to support research and conservation for species such as sage-grouse and mountain quail, as well as manage surveys and regulations for all 10 species of Oregon’s harvestable Galliformes.  From political advocacy, networking, and the latest scientific techniques, TWS has been an important conduit connecting me to the whole of our profession.  My primary goal as a leader with ORTWS would be to promote practical management applications and public understanding of the good science that our members produce.  I am running for this position as an effort to more fully engage in our chapter and hopefully give back to an organization that has helped me throughout my career.  I would bring a collaborative and common sense approach to the leadership team and look forward to serving our membership.
