Jamie Bowles
ORTWS Board Member (2024 – 2026)

Current Position: Regional Habitat Biologist – Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife

Biographical Sketch: I have had an amazing career path, spending the last 10 years with ODFW, starting as an intern in 2014. I was a non-traditional student, going back to school and starting a second career. I have a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Policy and Management, a graduate certificate in Wildlife Management and a Master’s of Natural Resources, all from Oregon State University. While in grad school, I was the lead for the Sierra Nevada red fox project in the Central Oregon Cascades. I have also worked as a wildlife biologist in Baker City, Prineville, and Bend. I was also the Central Region wolf biologist, before leaving the wildlife division for the newly redesignated Habitat Division. Every position I have held with the agency has been amazing. Great experience, working with a variety of species and an even more diverse field of professionals, landowners, hunters, and other conservation-minded constituents. I have made a lot of connections (and great friends!) along the way. When I am not at work, and depending on the season, you can find me hiking with my bow through the woods (a.k.a. hunting), fishing, riding my horses, harassing my daughter at college, or at the baseball field cheering on my boys. I am so excited to share my experience with others, especially those who aren’t sure where they are going, or “what they want to be when they grow up”. I am honored to be part of the Oregon Chapter of the Wildlife Society!
